Letters

A Poem by Vin

Sitting here I waste my time,

Thinking about our memories that were never there.

Sitting here I waste my life,

Thinking about where I stand,

drowning in the air.

You said we would be together,

I wait for that day.

Like water in the oceans,

The night forever stays.

I’m tired of waiting,

Please just come along.

That day will never come,

I wished I was wrong.

Days turned to years,

I’m holding my own.

The nights pass,

And now I’m alone.

I wait and wait,

For someone to come.

This, I should have known.

I received a letter,

It was late may.

“Like pictures in the sun,

Memories fade away.”

I sent you a letter,

It’s on its way,

“Like fire burning out,

Time, takes love away.”

I think you could have made this poem a bit better. The rhyming is nice, but I think the message overall could have been presented a bit better.
