Through Me

Through Me

A Poem by Michelle Tarnowski

I am standing in front of you,
but you don’t see me.
You look through me…past me…
as if I were invisible.
Glass.
And inside I shatter into a million shards
that cut at my heart with razor edges.
But I am strong and not one piece
will pierce through my armor.
Not one drop of blood will escape
to show the wounds you have left
when you looked through me
as if I was not there.
