Dear child

Dear child

A Poem by Marilyn My Bitterness

Dear child,

so young and full of grace

Why don't you smile?

Why don't you show your face?

What has the world done,

To make you so cold?

Where is the laughter?

Was it your soul that was sold?

Pain and strife

Have become your middle names

I want to steal it all

And throw it away

Dear world,

Give this child back hope

Tell her nothing and no one

Can steal her from my home

She need not suffer

Alone and in despair

Child of my heart

With me you can share

The years have passed

The child now grown

Yet all she has amassed

Is an inability to cope

I love this piece so much and can relate to it. I was that same child who didn't smile...and people always wondered why........well...thats another story but when we grow older we do have to learn and understand the circumstances. that can help us to cope. Awesome piece. :D

Spectacular, just amazing. The words mesh together like they are meant for each other. Touching yet inspirational in a kind of way. Unexplainable perfection.
