293 Days

293 Days

A Poem by Marilyn My Bitterness

If I could go back
293 days and counting
And counting
I would take back
That night of reckoning
To save my sanity
293 days and counting
And counting
Yet I can't erase the pain
Like he erases all hope
Of happiness in life
In 293 days and counting
And counting
I blame him
Each and every of the
293 days and counting
And counting
Because I know he's wrong
So wrong
Yet we must do things right
But what's right?
When will you stand up?
When will you say no more?
When will you follow your heart
That's been beating for me
For 293 days and counting
And counting?
So if I decide to walk away
Leave what we had behind
Will it be 293 days gone to waste?
Or the FIRST day of freedom
And counting
And counting.
