Venom

Venom

A Poem by Marilyn My Bitterness

All bubbles forth like a witch's brew in a cauldron
The words rise to the surface and pop
And burns the skin which darkens
The light in the room that exposes the truth
That hides under the bed and the shadows and you
The pressure is rising with the heat in my head
The venom is racing and escaping with each baited breath
I can feel it pour through my pores as you look in disgust
At the form which is no longer the daughter you trust
But your arrogance and power make you weaker instead
And I will not succumb to you nor bow down to the head
Of the household which respect in me should fill
Instead there is nothing more then venom that's set to kill
