Hellos Of Me

Hellos Of Me

A Poem by Mark Mendoza

What a sight to see,
Moonlight white with a face in the sky,
A sparkling rigid road made just for me.
"Sit, why don't you, please."

Wow, even at 2 in the morning,
Life songs madly: "eeeee-eeeee-eeeee!"
And cars make far fading faint roars.
And wisps of wind whistle.
And greenery stands tall in shadowy blues, waiting for golden rays to speak again.
The trees stay one with mind of the day, knowing full well and good of the unknown glow shown to those who know.

"Lay, Lay I say!"
On concrete ground,
Hounds howl in the distance,
Here I stay safe and sound.
"Lay, Lay"

Tinkiring clanking rambling- distraction weighs.
"Lay, Lay, Lay."

Now I lay below a royal sky lit with scattered dots of me.
A sight seen just as in the bedroom o I so rarley leave.
And here,
Kisses my imaginary lips,
Sinking deep within,
Pulling the thing out of me;
"See! See! You breathe! You breath!"

Sirens now blare a trouble pulse.
All I may do,
Is wish all well.
I've got nothing to tell,
Other than a hello of myself.
Whenever,
What ever weather,
I give hellos of me.

What a lively poem. You really bring us along on your night journey with you. It's excellent because even though you are writing a poem on the subject of being alive in the darkness it has a quality of the daytime sight that reveals everything to the observant eye.

The energy here reminded me a little of Walt Whitman. The way he would come at a subject as though he would not be able to rest until he had had his say. I like that energy here.

A lovely sense buffet for the reader. Enjoyed the reading. Nice to meet you, Mark.

Thank you kindly for the kind review. Walt Whitman is certainly good company.
I sure hope I am able to write like this one day. "And greenery stands tall in shadowy blues, waiting for golden rays to speak again. The trees stay one with mind of the day, knowing full well and good of the unknown glow shown to those who know." Seriously, how do certain people come up with such beautiful lines. Great job!

Mark... you are a part of earth and sky... I can see why
you write and play melodies... as cool as the breeze in May.
I am expecting family from Utah today... and will be busy.
However, I will be back along the way to read more of your poetry.
truly, Pat

Well I thank you very much for your time, you are kind.
i have lain on the ground, on a sleeping bag sometimes...and stared up at the moon, imagining conversations with that face looking down at me...and then wondering, wow, is that my reflection.
And all those dots you talk about...are they there just to listen in...to be entertained...
or to protect me from myself.
intricate piece of poetry...with a galaxy of interpretations...
nicely done, Mark.
