A Sweet Blue Tune

A Sweet Blue Tune

A Poem by Mark Mendoza

Caught in between...

O the joys of a tender love song,
One that moves one merrily along.
How quaint,
The very tune,
Could be of the pained heart,
Just as soon.

Ripped from worlds,
Mind holds to a beautiful fantasm.

Love exists always,
Even if casting glory through an old lover-
By way of dream-
She is loved,
All are loved.

This is the hungry heart,
One that yearns for salvation.
The dreams of yore are my cross,
At least...this is my faith.

Fate would have it,
That you-
My old lover-
Stay with me night to night,
In all that I do-
For your steps are my own.

One day,
The memory of my bruised heart,
Will fade.

Still I forever embrace you,
And all you do,
My sweet blue tune.

i have a sweet blue tune, although she was my Brown Eyed Girl...but i can relate to this.
Always there in my mind, in my faith of what love could be...always the questions...the decisions back then..
she and other loves...in the past but thanks to them...i have fuel for writing...
I really like your title and last line...what a great concept...the oxymoron...of the sweet blue..

and for new lovers, sometimes the old lovers interfere...they can feel it...they know that our heart is elsewhere...
nice write, Mark,
j.
