Alone In My Wonder

Alone In My Wonder

A Poem by Dave

Where are you, I wonder whose dreams you are stirring now
I wonder what happened to the gossamer castles we built.
Fragile wisps of blue and pink that floated gently on a breeze.
I wonder where you took them without malice so far away.

Alone I wonder if I am the only one whose dreams you have taken
Unfulfilled dreams lying like so much rubbish on loves' byway.
So alone, will my broken heart be mended or just remain as it is.
Alone in my wonder, I'm not alone in my thoughts of you.

Will you continue your reckless onslaught of innocent lovers
giving the promise of heaven only to open the gates of Hell?
No!  I did not see it coming the truth was to difficult to bare.
Alone in my wonder in the hopelessness that you could care.

This would be the poem that quite a few guys could've written about me. In fact, I've written a few poems from the guy's point of view, expressing a similar lament, thinking about those I've kicked to the curb along the way. Maybe I'll look one of those up & read request you soon. Anyhow, your poem is much more deeply felt than anything I could've written on this topic, becuz your approach to love is nothing like my own flippant approach. It's good for me to see how it could look from the other side more realistically. Thanks for opening my eyes! *sigh!* This is very well-written, as are all of youyr poems! Fondly, Margie

Oh the cruelty of love! Just forget all about her!
Lots of pathos in your well constructed poem.

Powerful and beautiful poetry my friend.
"Will you continue your reckless onslaught of innocent lovers
giving the promise of heaven only to open the gates of Hell?"
The learning of hell and heaven. In the ending. A acceptable place to have known. I liked the complete poem. Thank you Dave for sharing the outstanding poetry.
