Face in the crowd

Face in the crowd

A Poem by Marlene
"

no.

"

Thousands of people, thousands of faces.

Behind each one lays a story.

Thousands of stories, still yours is the one I’m willing to listen to.

Thousands of faces, and yours is the one I want to admire.

Thousands of people, and you’re the one I want to be with.

All I see is you.

Your presence fills everything, enlightening everything around you, enlightening me.

 I’m addicted to your presence.

I can’t forget our time together when it was raining, snuggled into a blanket, watching our favorite series.

Hands secretly touching

excited chuckles

I can't help but have these flashbacks every time I see your face in the crowd, and  can’t help but smile.

Sometimes, I forget about what happened.

It’s almost like we’re still sitting on the couch in my living room, watching series and holding hands.

Sometimes I tend to forget, that to you, I no longer am the person you are to me.

To you, I am a meaningless smiling face in the crowd;
