Going South

Going South

A Poem by Matt Cabazal
"

It's a poem about a man having feelings for a girl in the club.

"
Only when the night is filled with strangers,
A young burgundy flower blooms the most.
Only when sounds blasting, strobes, and lasers,
Silver moonlight never kisses the coast.

Locked fingers, heavy whispers, crowded room.
It was the poison talking for ourselves.
Dont let the golden morning take you soon,
Spilled secrets, truth's louder than nothing else.

Oh dear Mister, give me more precious time.
She danced the night away like a sweet tale.
My thoughts cruised south bound; of her being mine.
It's like a rough hard prison without bail.

Only when the night is still young; it's true
Is only then I can tell I like you.

The imagery in the first two stanzas are captivating.
