The Lake

The Lake

A Chapter by Maximilian Roberts
"

Julie, an elderly lady, remembering her past. very unfinished, just a couple of paragraphs so far.

"
The lake lay placidly like mirrored glass as I stood upon the edge embankments, my frail hand lain softly upon my cane. I inhaled the gentle breeze as I watched in a blissful state of memory, remembering what once was.
I had been here before, so many years ago. Me and Henry used to love this spot. I was standing where he had proposed to me....
"Julie" Henry called out to me, "come over here!". I approached him with a wide grin, he was what I cared for most in this world. "Julie" he continued "I've been waiting for this for a long time, there's no where id rather be than here with you now" He bent down onto his knee as he bought out a small red box from his pocket. A shiver of excitement ran through my body as my eyes became wet. "will you...."
"Yes!" I cut him off in mid speech. His grin grew wider than before as he opened the box, revealing a beautiful, silver, diamond encrusted ring.
