Not What Was

Not What Was

A Poem by Mae Taylor
"

this is not done yet but i needed to put it out there

"

How there can be so much pain in a picture

to look at a still frame of such happiness

a moment where there were so little worries

not a touch of sadness or concern

to be close to someone you love

wrapped close in their arms

now looking back, remembering only the worst

how I fell out of love

how the pain of realizing you were not who I thought you were

raked through me taking away everything I'd worked so hard to achieve

no excuses, no reasons why

This is the hardest thing in a relationship. It leaves more scars and pain then most will ever know.

If I could I would distance myself. I think that would be the only way. Thank you.

Thank you.
The beginning reads like there could be a whole story behind this. I would love to know more throughout the poem. Great beginning.
