It's my coffin

It's my coffin

A Poem by Mayank
"

The slow of process of dying...

"

Easy, easy

Handle with care

It’s my coffin,

Easy, easy

I am gonna lay there

Here, in my coffin.

I sat on the chair

I have been idle for too long,

The Lid of a coffin ajar

This is where we belong.

I lit a cigarette

Wearily going through the bills due,

Poor health and hefty debt

Happy that I am not yet sued.

Cracked my wire glasses

couldn't read anymore,

My sight harasses

People have stopped knockin' on my door.

Now old and gray

I abandoned god,

Neither do I pray

By now, your minds have trod.

Bury me

Bury my belief,

Under the Mahogany tree

Bury mine & thy grief.

A dark image of how life and people treat the old, In their misery they seek solace but theres no one listeing anymore. I could connect with each stanza because of the clear imagery it created. Great stuff man! Cheers

Thanks Ragini for the kind words.
Good work. The death is the final destination where we all reach and attain the light but no one is actually ready to accept it. To write and imagine around the words "Its my coffin" is one hell of a task and still you come up with a wonderful composition. Thanks for sharing. :)

You are welcome. :)
we all have one life, we are born and we die some day , this is a universal fact, yet the image of death frightens everyone. good work, I liked the theme.

I could picture in my head how this man felt as his life slowly deteriorates as he grayed and shriveled. Nothing seems to have mattered to him as he realized soon he would no longer matter either! Awesome write!

thanks dear, glad that you liked it.
Very thought provoking, could feel the man's thoughts as he prepares for and accepts his approaching end/death.
