Surrender

Surrender

A Poem by Michael (Letters and Lifelines)

I don't know for sure,
But I'd like to say,

That my hope is secure,

That love finds a way.

So don't wait.
Just take me.
Before it's too late.

I never found my way.

Like a leaf in a stream,

I live so astray.

I'm lost in a dream.

So please stay.
Just a while.
So I can see you smile.

I've always been alone.

And I've learned to deal.

But now, on my own,

You're all I feel.

So don't wait.
Just take me.
Before it's too late.

I watch for your glow,

And the warmth that it brings.

Then I melt like snow,

On the first eve of Spring.

So please stay.
Just a while.
So I can see you smile.

I love you more than you know.

And I couldn't lie.

I couldn't let you go.

Even if I tried.

So take me.
As your anything.
Because you're my everything.

Thank you very much, my friend! :)
Lots of longing in this surrender, love the line...

'Then I melt like snow,
On the first eve of Spring'.

Bittersweet Michael. Well done.
