My Salvation

My Salvation

A Poem by MediocreMemory
"

In memory of a loved one.

"

It’s that time of the year again
when my memories fade to black.
I never knew I could feel this pain
as badly as back then.

You were my salvation
for sins I have committed
and I deserve an explanation
for why I cannot be saved.

I wish that I could feel the same
as I did when you owned my heart.
I want be able to bear all the blame
but if that were true, I killed myself.

Its heartfelt! Moreover i can relate with this feeling. Yes, people who are left behind by their dear ones deserve an explanation but perhaps in the deepest core of their heart, they already know it. The salvation lies in going on... while keeping the blessed memories like a treasure that none can ever steal or rob.

I loved the graceful flow and expression.
