Something Broken

 

Something broken, shattered inside

you came in and revived

Feeling so lost and misused

you made me feel so confused

I pine for you and eagerly await

to hear your voice when I awake

 

I flush with guilt at every word

and every soft laugh heard

I’m scared to say this is constant

afraid it will end in an instant

from a dream to a nightmare

if you are not there

 

I hate how I feel when I’m alone

as if my emotions have turned to stone

and every time I hear my lies

something else inside me dies

It’s that fear of life without you

If I finally got what I was due
