Essence.

When you think of Essence, what do you picture?

When I think of Essence I visualize a sour but sweet picture.

A young, yellow, girl who likes to take pictures.

Strong minded with a destine to read minds,

so she takes psychology.

Named Essence but doesn't haven't it all figured out in Essence, analyze that psychology.

Has evolved for sure,

from someone who wanted to know it all but now is comfortable with pronouncing

"I'm not sure."

Attempting to differ herself from the hype,

with the peace signs thrown in her photos,

and Kid Cudi coming from her head phones.

Toking marijuana for a while now, getting high, managing lows.

Going through the motions but hiding the emotions.

Introvert persona through the day, however, it comes out through the waterfalls on her cheeks at night.

Laying in bed, no Mar is sight.

Thinking, "how come s**t can't go right?"

Losing the energy to fight.

Just need a call like, "aye Ess, everything's going to be alright".

1800 sipping and word slurring at night,

to wake up and get herself together,

barely able to reminisce about last night.

Connecting with people up at State left and right.

Remaining high and highly educated,

not 100% sure where life will lead her,

but knowing where she don't want to land.

Follow her on social media and think,

"that girl living in her own land".

Fond in the face without the bundles or name brand,

switch it up from hood to classy,

steadily promoting Detroit's Peace Brand.

Learning to grow affection for the middle finger,

for, everything you can't give a f**k about.

Thinking back on pass issues,

like "what was all the fuss about?"

Growing until growth no longer exists,

a great person in Essence.

One should feel ignited to be in the presence of Essence.

The birds should be flocking to Essence.

But for now, Essence needs to work on Essence.

Peace, love, always.

 Great things always wished well to Essence.
