A Letter to Myself From You

A Letter to Myself From You

A Poem by MeganCruickshank

Sometimes when you smile
My heart stops a little.

And I know sometimes you hurt
And that the light is no home
But one day I will find you.

Wrapped in the ocean and barely breathing
the wind will whisper your name
And call you to the dark.

Your skin might be pale
And your sparkle might be dull
But I will still try to grow flowers
On the paths where you walk.

And If you decide your love for me, my love
Is not as strong as it once was
And you decide to fill your lungs with the sea
And your whispered name,
I will tie you to the clouds.

For you are the stars
And I am the sky.
And without you I am night.
But I am close and I will be good to you and I will love your all.

And at that moment
If and When that knife lets go of your heart
Your gaze will let go of my soul
And there I would come to save you.

Mine, my love
you and your all,
I will come to find you.
