Strong Bones

Strong Bones

A Poem by MeganCruickshank

I think it's rather sad
That such a soul of his
Remains tangled in a rib cage
Barely strong enough to hold his heart together.

But he cant think it more pretty
Than to tape the hole that was
What nearly led to him breaking
And losing his big soul
Too big for his bones.

His bones are strong now
I think
And he can't feel a thing
Although I know deep into his eyes
He can still cry
And feel pain and love and sting.

My dear
Sometimes words golden words can relieve you of your pain
But sometimes words dull words shatter your mind hidden by your brave face

You should know
That you are good
No matter what you say
That you don't have
To hide away
Because I will help you
and I will love you
and I will know you

until you know yourself again.
