Not like That

Not like That

A Poem by Meghan.E

In all honesty, it began in innocence;

it was never something that needed a worry.

Pure, true, attraction at it's finest

and everyone brushed it off.

'Child', they warned

it was a bad idea.

Why listen, when you can live?

Tell me, is that so wrong

They say when push comes to shove,

mistakes can be made.

This was not a mistake,

intentions were direct.

The night it happened

lives were changed.

Nothing was ever to be the same

again.

Life was better,

life was freer.

Once the truth came out,

ridicule was great

and rest did not exist.

No one knew the 'truth' truth,

though.

They believed what they chose;

she had been taken advantage of,

an accident of large proportion.

It was not, though.

The life they formed,

the new child born;

was wanted by both.

Age did not matter,

title made no difference.

They loved each other

and stayed together

through it all.

The facade was kept

until she graduated;

they told their closest friends.

They received harsh remarks

and unfair treatment.

They took off

and lived the life

each had always wanted.

Wouldn't it be nice, if this were real;not just a dream locked in her head?
