Ease Your Mind

Ease Your Mind

A Poem by Meghan.E

Swirls of thoughts

race a marathon

within your head

and you just want it to

stop.

Words toss themselves

around in such a way

that you lose

touch with what you

meant to think,

anyway.

The pain beats the

drum that is your

heart

while you attempt to

take a breath.

What should be easy,

for you is a trying mental

task;

You'd blame it on the

world,

but the world itself is much too broad.

Blame the world instead

for the corruption it gave

the one who really

corrupted you.

There is no easy

way around it;

your world is not as it should be

with twists and turns

that cloud the

light.

But you are stronger than

you seem,

you pushed this far

alone;

now you will have

a companion.

Again, the race of

thoughts begin

as you ponder what could

be the result;

Sleep at night? Resting eyes?

It's all too good to be true.

No medicine can heal

what has been done;

instead, a friend,

 a confidante,

will stand by you.

And serve as

that bridge Simon

and Garfunkel

sing of.
