Trapped

Trapped

A Poem by Megan

There's that girl again
Sitting on the ground leaning against the wall
as if that's her shield as if no one can see her
BUT I CAN

Her expression say "leave me alone"
Her clothing says "don't mind me"
Her body language says "I don't care"
But her eyes...Oh her eyes they speak louder than words

Her beautiful eyes the color of a chocolate lab
They say "help me, please help"
They tell everyone and no one
"Please I don't like who I am, but I don't me"

"I am misjudged and overlooked
And at this point I don't care
I would rather disappear...Poof! Gone!
Gone, gone forever never to be seen judged, overlooked, or spoken to again"

"Gone...A beautiful word I would be
If I could, but I can't
I can't because I am chained to these words,
These horrible words!"Ugly, fat, hateful, disrespectful, trash, loser,
retard, idiot, gross, stupid, worthless...
ALL OF THEM!
They taunt me, and they tell me who I am
"

"And what else am I supposed to do
But believe them when
All I hear is them
Over and over again
"

And her eyes they told me this
Not her, not me, not anyone
So be careful with what you say
Because it's scary what people can hide

Behind a fake smile
Or better yet and imaginary wall...
