Parasitic Memories

Parasitic Memories

A Poem by Melanie Jane Boicourt Shanks

Parasitic memories

(long forgotten)

creep into existence

through night dreams

and fleeting day-mares.

Although forgiven,

never truly erased

from your consciousness.

Beware of sin children

in all its many forms.

The sickening truth. I love this piece.

Nice work. We are all sometimes haunted by things we have done, even sometimes by things that aren't necessarily wrong or a sin, but things that maybe have embarrassed us.

How true. Nothing of that caliber dies easily. Good work.

Nice work. I love the concept of daymares-I heavily believe in them.
