Therein

Therein

"

See? I flub verbal.

I am sorry if the expression of my fears

Heightened your own.

I did not mean to validate or invalidate.

I told you I love you,

Which I do,

To set you free -

Never as coin or chain.

As I myself am not now ready to commit,

I am not opposed to such

If and when the time comes.

I fear you are, and was trying to say so.

That is all.

I do think since it's not been pointed out you've been aglow,

You still think maybe you can find someone better for you than me,

By which you keep looking, and to me are a contradiction.

If you've not seen it, or it has been a while,

You really should review Stardust.

Perhaps while recovering?

I speak of self out of being and staying true.

Afterall, it is my direct connection to Source

By which I shine!

You are a switch by which the volume can grow,

But you are not the source.

It does trouble me that no matter how far we've come

You still carry your own light as a burden.

I discuss fear to release it rather than give into it.

I do not find the realization of fears an unavoidable inevitability.

As for me not being "cut-out",

I did not mean all-together.

I mean in the traditional sense,

That depending on what someone wants from me

Regarding an "us"

There will need be further discussion

And maybe much compromise.

Afterall, I know what I do and do not want,

And though it is not always easy for me,

I will usually find a way to express it.

I'll not have you, nor anyone

Making me wrong for that

Anymore.

And therein lies my shine!

Poetry does not get much more real or heartfelt than this...as with all of your works, I can just feel the tangle of emotions here: love, fear, confusion, and more...the repetition also plays a big part in getting your feelings across...the "volume" couplet I thought was brilliant, and maybe I'm wrong but I detect a slight hint of frustration in the claim that you "usually" find a way to express it...if that is the case, I'm sure you'll find your expression somewhere along the way as long as you keep writing...your poetry will help you find the way, I truly believe that.

here i have been..in relationships where i held back, but just as much my partner did too...because they were still carrying the baggage...

it's tough to let go sometimes....and trust.

nicely penned.
