90 Proof

90 Proof

Hey, I knew you for meat-n-tators when I saw ya

As for loss in love, no doubt we could write a book

You say you love my eyes, Lord help my spirit

It blows my mind I even let you look

Yeah where the road leads from here

It's anybody's guess

I'm just glad to be in motion

Every moment knowing I've been blessed

I laugh that you're a gentlemanly kind of woman

Probably the sort who fancies uncut green beans

I hear parts of you screaming to come undone

And in hopes that I can help, you've turned to me

Yeah where the road leads from here

I won't pretend to know

But I've got four good tires

So hold on tight, here we go

Let's get this done

Let's have some fun

Passed the pits and the tracks

And the pain of the bare-backed

Son-of-a-guns

We'll sing some tunes

Howl at the moon

And the morning will tell

If you're the kinda hell

That can raise my roof

Yeah the morning will tell

If you're my kind of hell

And whether we can weather

That what we have to offer

Is 90 proof

Long time no see my friend. It's a pleasure being able to read fresh work from you. In the past I've been guilty of misinterpreting works as negative when they're actually anything but. This time I'm confident that I'm reading a piece of fulfilled romance. Hopefully I'm right this time haha

I love the "gentlemanly kind of woman," that line brought a smile to my face, as did the last stanza, which made me think about the give-and-take element of a relationship. Relationships are hard work, but for the best times, it is well worth it. Fine work as always Mel :)

I can sympathize with that, to put it lightly. I'm glad that my reviews mean something to you^^

I'm sure it is...90 proof that is...
I had a smile on my face as I read this Melo...
Maybe it was the rhythm...maybe the rhyme
or maybe just the damn message...I don't
probably a combination of the three...
I just completed a songwriting class and this certainly has the makings of a pretty cool country-rock tune.
I can see a '59 chevy convertible with a couple of hair blown boppers...sailing down Rt 66
but that's me>>>
I'm going to get a shot now...
enjoyed this a lot Melo...
