Addicted To The Sadness

Addicted To The Sadness

A Poem by Isabel

It comes around every now and then.

I'd greet it with open arms.

Agree to disagree, but I felt comfort in its charm.

The walls of my room mocked me.

They knew I felt lonely.

The night enveloped my body.

I admired its beauty.

It bled me dry.

I tried to fight back. All I did was try.

The moonlit sky would apologize and I'd forgive it,

Only for the stars to shoot down and forget me.

I'm addicted to the sadness. Saw it as a gift.

I let it take me for granted. Never once let it go adrift.

It's manifested fingers traced my legs.

I couldn't give it up. It had a tight grip.

It bled me dry.

I tried to fight back. All I did was try.

The moonlit sky would apologize and I'd forgive it,

Only for the stars to shoot down and forget me.
