Darkness and Pain

Darkness and Pain

A Poem by Maria
"

Am a survivor of sexual abuse in childhood and teenage years. So at times, my poetry and or writing reflects on my own experiences.

"
Darkness, Night, Terror,
Unheard screams, in the night,
trapped, no way out.

Pain, shattering of the soul,
Stop, Stop!, no more, no more,

Darkness, shrills, laughter,
Blood shed, rupture, death.
No way out! No way out!

Pain, weeping, emptiness,
Why? Why? hurt.
Help! Help!

Darkness, mocking, lies,
Its OK, Its OK,
You are my princess...

Pain, heartache, pitch black,
I hate you! I hate you!
Your my princess, No I am Not!!!

Bones, death, foul,
vermin, stench, sickness,
No more pain, No more pain...

Darkness, whining, growling,
Monster is out, Monster is caught,
No more pain, No more hurt,

I think poetry is an outlet for every poet some are more attune themselves and thus more willing to give of themselves to their poetry. What better way to clear ones conscience or free our self of pain or fear than through poetry. Poetry can be a best friend always with you and always willing to share your burdens, worries and woes. It is plain to see you are good friends with your poetry and capable of expressing your emotions, thoughts and hopes through your writing skills. Bravo! I give it five out of five Clap! Clap! Clap! I think one of the hardest things in life, is living. Every day is a doorway to either happiness, or sadness. We don't always get to choose which door. I hope you find many doors that bring happiness.

First of all is really very sad. You were exposed such ugly experience. Myself I was exposed to physical abuse. I cannot recall any of my friends who were not abused. I think that's really sad. Your poem have raw tone and truth is in naked form.thanks for write this. I am sure is gonna help some people to feel they are not alone.

The emotions of helplessness, terror and sadness dwell on this poem alot! The imagery of the metaphorical monster and those sick feelings come out perfectly...
Really sorry about your experience Maria.
Keep it up :)

This is stark and has a helplessness and a brutality woven in the stilted, breathless gasps of the victim. The horror and futility and loneliness all seem palpable Maria.
