Dead & Cold

Dead & Cold

A Poem by merit

Dead and cold-
Cats in a cubboard
Fish in the tank
Moonbeams stroking
At the surface of the water

I am stood here-
Looking at my reflection
Away from all noise-
Brought on by you-
And your radio

Somewhere in the distance-
A wolf keeps howling-
Or could that be a Fox

Cold Blooded murderer
Eyeing up the oxen

Rain is falling down
Tears from the sky
Somewhere in heaven-
Little Angels are weeping

But, Chickens are free-
To fly like Eagles-
I can hear them -
Chuckle, Quack-
Amongst cottony clouds..

I enjoyed this piece. Not much to decipher and definitely my favorite type of poetry. Mostly regular thoughts to describe regular events, expect for the darn chickens... what's up with them? Great poem, cheers!
