what does it mean to be in love?

i unpack myself into your space
an inside joke here
a hug there
dancing in the kitchen while pasta boils
cuddles in front of the TV
a new hoodie on your shelf
one less stuffed animal
my love spread around
visible in its invisibility

you unpack yourself onto my soul
a new mannerism here
an inside joke there
a feeling of home
a new routine formed
new habits made
your love spread around
clear in it’s echo
loud in its silence

we unpack into each others lives
and are both forever changed
for better and worse
because
love leaves a mark
on your soul

This is so sweet! I love the little ways that love can drift through our lives and how we can show it through little things. Sometimes it feels like it's impossible that anyone could know how much we care about them, but it really does live and breathe through everything. This is a really excellent poem, I love the way each stanza begins with a similar line to connect it all together. Great work.
