Who Am I?

Who Am I?

A Poem by Merry Sumiko
"

Will you be the one to help me?

"
I hide myself on an extinct land,

And appear by the ones who need me.

I hold out my arms that comforts and calms,

Wishing that it could be me.

Selfish I am but selfless I’ll be,

Giving forevermore.

Who am I? What will I be?

Can I ever be sure?

I let them back in, then let them go,

I’ll do this again and again.

I’ll be happy for once, then replaced and lost,

All that's left is used paper and pen.

To those who need help,

To those who need warmth,

I will forever stay.

But whatever it takes, it’s all a mistake,

As I will lose my way.

Who am I? What will I be?

Can I be sure? What will I see?

Will you be the one to help me?

And show me what life’s for?
