My Reflection

A Story by Michaela Bell
"

Prelude.

Everyday her face changes.
A persona and confliction of character is what she faces everyday. How could she lose herself so fast.
He giggles; he could laugh at anything, every situation he encounters he brings his sunshine with him. This is a reflection of her. But she can't find it within herself anymore.
Just darkness and evil tugging at her ankles.
These substances don't bring her closer; only further.
Something so horrendous can't be justified, only maximized, thrown right in the mirror to engross her daily. Accountability is a hard thing to digest; any rationalization would make sense to her, as she knows deep down this isn't what she wanted. However, avoiding the truth, only distances her further.
Maybe the ultimate plan of life never involved her to begin with; maybe this is what was meant to happen. But then again, that's just negativity taking over. God would never plan for a child to be without his mother, it was the mother who did it all along.
