Metamorphosis

Metamorphosis

A Poem by Midge Marie
"

This poem is about taking time out for yourself and reflecting on your life and seeing what you want changed about it. I hope you like it! Please comment and tell me your opinion on my poem! :)

"

I am so sick and tired
Of feeling uninspired.
So now I shall sit and wait and recuperate
In this room that is now a hollow cocoon.

Do not knock on my door,
It will only be ignored.
Please go away and come again later,
It is only myself to whom I need to cater.

Fear not dear people,
I will return to society’s steeple.
Just not now, not today.
Allow me to act in a selfish way.

I am done acting and being fake.
Only in my sleep do I feel truly awake.
So I shall go and rejuvenate
And rethink my life that they call “fate.”

Do not mourn for I shall return.
Please do not weep,
Just let me sleep.
The old me must die
So the new me can rise.
