Such is the Way of Life

Such is the Way of Life

A Poem by Heart Of A Wolf

When you have pain deep down inside

And your heart is breaking into,

The pieces are shattered

And there is nothing you can do.

Each day you blame yourself,

Not realizing that that's what you're doing.

The guilt and anger builds, but grows deeper

To where there is no chance of the sky bluing.

The shades get deeper inside the heart

Till there is nothing left but a black, empty hole.

Then suddenly you realize how you feel inside

Before darkness consumes your soul.

Like a door opening

Allowing sunlight to filter through,

The heart begins to feel relief

At knowing that there was nothing that you could do.

They may bring happiness and love,

They may bring sadness and strife... but

Destiny and fate have to run their course.

Such is the way of life.
