Amber

Amber

A Poem by Minty

Her lips curved when she saw the pool of blood at her feet
She looked at the stained knife which she held tightly in her hand
Blood dripping from its sharp edge
She wanted to know what it feels like .. taking one's life.
She wondered if it hurt
Her heart began to rock unconditionally in her chest when she saw her own reflection in the mirror
She was grinning, ear to ear
Content with what she had done.
Her vision blurred
Her head reeled
She sank into her chair, rocking slowly
Her grip on the knife loosened
Her once rocking heart stopped
She slipped in to a deep slumber
Shutting her eyes of amber.
