Unnumbing

Unnumbing

A Poem by R. Ellison

Desensitized to the pangs of your conscious

Disturbed in mind, body and soul

Forging a trail of your own

Disregarding warning

Ignoring Hazard

Dive head-first into the world

Daily life, a competition

Follow the leader

Direct your attention

Never say die

You are charging down the path of ruin

Your life is not your own

Don't fall into this regime

Do what you know is right

You should never back down

You know you have purpose

Kick out your droll ways

Yearly? No. Daily.

Stand up you fool

You are a disgrace and in need of reshaping

You fall and refuse help

Pick yourself up then.

You can't. Can you?

I will carry you then

There's something about this poem, that makes me crumble inside, a shade of hope covered in sadness, hysteria, not in the word itself, but the metaphor of insignificant. This is an Admirable poem.
