Self destructive

Self destructive

A Poem by Ana B.

When you’re knocking on a door

Whom do you expect on the other side?

A person whom you thought you can ignore…

Or the one who cracked your heart so  wide…

Turn back to the beginning

And get lost in the crowd

So you could relieve this confusing feeling

And your lil heart is beating sooo loud…

Why won’t I ever learn

To know better….

That there is no return

Once a heart takes a header

Beautiful! That was very deep. I hope to be able to write like that some day. "Turn back to the beginning and get lost in the crowd so you could relieve this confusing feeling and your lil heart is beating sooo loud" was my favorite part. Most people can relate to that feeling. I love the way you put it into words so perfectly.

Touching piece of poetry, I liked it from the beginning,
When you’re knocking on a doorWhom do you expect on the other side?

The end maybe hopeless but it fits well according to the theme and emotions ,indeed the poetry was sad.
Great work, I enjoyed the read.

hmmm... :).
'Whom do you expect on the other side?'
I love this line, it's like it's got a deeper mean. Like who you want to be on the other side.
Keep it up!!

Thank you so much :)
I can relate to self destructive behavior. It started with a death wish in my youth. Unloved and lacking any self esteem, Vietnam caused more damage, I drank heavily, my father caused more damage, more drinking.

Then nursing...........we won't go into that.

Your words Ana B. Carry the sincerity of daylight.

Regards,

Al
