Placebo effect

Placebo effect

A Poem by Ana B.

Afternoon has settled down

Everything doused in amethyst

So many lives in this town…

But there’s only one that I cannot resist.

Chocolate and cigarettes are kissing my soul

Instead of you.

Mirages and scraps of invocation keeping patrol

But I know it’s not true…

Ghosts are reflections of our thoughts…

Then I guess you are mine.

Because my heart envisions a loss

That never existed. I hope I’ll refine

I am going through something similar, except chocolate it's coffee and cigarettes for me. I guess, only time can revive things...

well, for it would be chocolate and coffee in real life.....never tried a cigarette :) thank you
It is deep...........
I love it but flow is marvelous.

Ghosts are reflections of our thoughts…
Then I guess you are mine.

I agree. We need affection and caress over ghost or false caress. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.
