Sleep

Sleep

A Poem by Ana B.

Strange sunrise nowadays

My fibbing eyes witness

The sweet intorsion of these rays

Had my humanity grimace.

And lying ‘’loves’’

Yanked my soul’s memory

As I follow the crumbs

To a falsified reverie…

Closer to death

With each spoon of broken glass

From Life’s alphabet

I must be reading the wrong paragraphs.

Strange how time can mold a mind…

Shaping a beautiful vessel;

Or a perception achingly blind…

                    After all, delight and spite

Need only one heart to nestle.

I agree dear Ana with your words and thoughts.
"After all, delight and spite
Need only one heart to nestle."
In the end. We need a safe place to rest. Always a pleasure to read your amazing poetry.

You are welcome dear Ana.
Your words, a bit melancholy, have a soft, smooth flow. I love the last verse. Intelligently written and a joy to read :) Julie

Thank you for the sweetness Julie :)
after awhile, we don't believe what we hear, we don't believe what we read...enough lies make the truth seem like some remote object we cannot reach again...we become so cynical.

There's a great sardonic theme running through this write. Which i must admit, i love. And yes, the heart can nestle all sorts in its life.
