Singing Holly Tree

Singing Holly Tree

A Poem by modtoddinc

Listen to the singing holly tree,

feel the fall of dead willows

and the vibrant sturdy pine

erected and full.

I see all and I call

connecting at the pull,

hanging in the sky with the fingernail moon.

We are the brightly lit stars around the boon.

Gusting constantly and blowing,

swirling through the water channel

rippling wave upon the dock below

the golden canal reaching inward.

Little birds sing in the holly tree.

Yearning to be closer to you...

breaking through the shells

Beaming headlights

shining bright

I take step after step after step

throughout the night

Your name; My nature

words forming on my lips just so

like a river to the ocean

over miles and miles

Long winding turns

in and out of sight

beyond the forest door

the real fight

there is no trail when we sail,

To seek the path, but one

where there be

answers the plight,

she here will prevail.
