Cold Winter

Cold Winter

A Poem by Muhamad Farhany

When the winter falls so hard
And winter winds blow so cold
And my country's night is so black
I feel afraid of black cats
Who choose to come at midnights
Roaring like black ghosts
Pointing at my luscious flesh
That's what we want here and now
Singing loudly miaow miaow.

My little kids looking at them
Tears in eyes.
The black cats take their dad
And let them alone in bed.
Telling the cats "You're so bad!"

They take me far in the jungle
And start devouring my flesh,
Kick, hit, insult and bungle
And dancing around my body
Drinking, smoking hubble bubble.

After long hours of partying,
They decide to put me free.
Free.. free.. still crying
Coming home with no body
With half a body still bleeding.
Remembering their long lectures
And their lessons on repenting.

And from that day,
I don't go to bed
Waiting for the black cats
To come at midnights
To teach me with no books
How countries' love looks.

I am still waiting
And winter is still cold
And its nights
Still fall so hard.
