In answer to the Poetry Challenge

Embrace the Joy

Sigh… The sun comes up again

And, I wake to aching pain

Yet, surely in each new day,

You will always hear me say,

“Embrace the Joy!” 

Life always beats us down and down,

’Til we think we just might drown.

But I woke today and in I breathed

My love about me is wreathed

Embrace the Joy!

The morning starts with a  hustle

all hurrying, scurrying bustle

My child’s homework to be finished

His smile ever undiminished

Embrace the Joy!

Jumbled beds we have to make

Childish rants we have to take

That first morning cup is waiting

My vat-o-coffee I’m anticipating

Embrace the Joy!

Have a cozy chat in the car

on a drive to school… not far

Sitting in carpool’s a frustration

But better than the bus station

Embrace the Joy!

No music on the ride home

Nothing but yammering DJs’ drone

It’s damp and drear outside

It’s peaceful and warm inside

Embrace the Joy!

Peace and quiet… just me -n- the dog

Space to write… for a mental jog

Cruise the Net for inspiration

Catch up with family across the nation

Embrace the Joy!

Pick up my boy from school

After sittin’ forever in carpool

To see his smiling, happy face

Charging the car in his rushed pace

Embrace the Joy!

Healthy dinner to make and serve

Hubby’s home to throw a curve

“What is that for supper?

“Can’t you fry it up in butter?”

Embrace the Joy!

The dishes are all done,

The day’s battles are won

It’s time to relax in hubby’s arms

And watch Disney’s insipid charms

Embrace the Joy!

The day is done… I rest my head

My lover and I lay upon our bed

Reveling in the smell of him

Close my eyes… ’til the morn again

Embrace the Joy!

What an uplifting writing! It is a testament to a strong mind though as it is so easy to navigate through difficulties and crumble at the challenge making for negativity and pessimism which has a way of transforming into hatred. So the reminder to keep strong and try hard to cling to the side of the experiences which lead to recognize the good. Eventually the joy of th experience itself will be revealed.

Nope sorry, that's not me.... In this site I only belong to one group and other than that I focus all my creativity mainly on local competitions Momzilla portfolios with very specific types of poetry. Very time consuming .....

I really like this! While reading through the lines I was able to imagine everything. We live in a busy world with so much to do, even for me and I am only 19. I work over night, and go to school in the morning. People are still surprise that I still can smile. But my simple answer is if I still can have time to laugh with my family and pray as much as I can then that is all that I need. I enjoy working; I praise God and pray while doing my tasks. I write songs/poems in my one hour lunch break.

Nehemiah 8:10
Nehemiah said, “Go and enjoy choice food and sweet drinks, and send some to those who have nothing prepared. This day is holy to our Lord. Do not grieve, for the Joy of the Lord is your strength.”

“Though sorrow may last for the night, his joy comes in the morning.”

sometimes Battles in life can be even more harder
depending on the battles but if we are focused upon
Jesus and the positive things the bad and arguments disappear :)


Life can be overwhelming at times but from as much as
I have been thrown everywhere in life we get up and get
past the battles and we allow the Joy to come in only Jesus
pours Joy into my heart he is my bottle of sunshine.




I always Praise him for food and the
sunsets and beauty and family he's given me
it all comes from God and the peace seems to
stay at times if I pray before I go any where and
I give him control I pray silently in my heart when
things seem crazy and the nose stops and it calms down.

Thank you. I just know that the key to happiness is to be aware of every moment and to look for the miracles all around us. My health has always been rather indifferent: I've always thought I wouldn't have long on this earth (honestly, I've been around longer than I thought I'd be). When I learned to make a happy life for myself (and stopped wish for the release of death), I recognized that every moment is precious and that those I love and who love me should never doubt the devotion and joy in our time together.

I hope to have a long life too. But, I'm already over 50 and my son is only 10 (almost 11). He's been warned he's not allowed to make me a grandmother until he finishes grad school! That's quite a long time yet to go! :D
