When Life Gives You a Cup of Tea

When Life Gives You a Cup of Tea

A Poem by Jessie

When life gives you a cup of tea,
You have to drink the tea before
You can have more.

You cannot say to life
"Give me more tea"
When your teacup sits
Untouched.

Perhaps life will give you
Peppermint tea, when you
Would rather have
Chamomile.
The thing is,
At the tea party of life,
Life serves you the tea
She pleases.

If you remember to be polite
And kindly take the tea
you're given,
She might let you choose
your next cup of tea.

And even if she doesn't,
She will smile wisely
And  invite you to partake in
The sugar bowl on the table.

I love this piece! It's so beautiful, eloquent and wonderfully written. This piece provokes thought, which means it is fantastic! Great work = ]
