A friend in you

A friend in you

A Poem by Mrudula Rani

A soulmate, lucky enough to find
A perfect par in this world,
Similar in mind and heart
In every sense an exact fit!

When one can't succeed,
In the quest for ones promised,
Seif search in solitude does wonders;
But not on a park bench,
Not out loud under a tree,
Where every one could hear...
You might be labeled a loony, and they'll flip!
In a flinty Society, self counseling isn't hip.

It does enlighten the inner being
If aim is not to bruise feelings!
Promotes self appreciation!

If you find a friend in yourself
Have no more of lonely grief!

I suppose you have to love yourself, before you can give your love away to another.
Self searching, sitting on the park bench. Quiet thoughts that bare no meaning, and the swans swim around in circles.

this is kinda lovely, and holds truth. You need to find a friend in yourself before you know how to be a friend to someone else.
