Days of Winter

Days of Winter

A Poem by Kelly Scheppers

Days of Winter

It was the short days of winter

that proceeded to fade her colors,

where the precipice of night

               exacerbated

the relativity of need.

Your beautiful poetry fits the art you chose perfectly Kelly. Being a spring girl myself, I can relate to winter "fading her colors". Thankfully our winters here in CA are short ones. Stunning poetry - you have an amazing gift

:) Julie

p.s. Happy Spring - I'm getting my colors back!

Thank you, Jewels...I am delighted you are here!
I find it absolutely difficult to write concise and short poetry that really says something. And you've captured that essence here.

Love the concept of winter fading her colors.

All colors fade in the long dark night of winter... physically and emotionally. I sense that this is subtly expressing the end of something besides winter, but a beautiful write if read straight out of the box... Great equation of physical to emotional loss!

How wonderful seeing you, Poppy...thank you!
It ended 'toooo soooon' for me..
'the relativity of need' is a well crafted line..

I like how your pieces are short yet abundant in profoundness.
Great write again.
