The Allure

The blossoms of April

applauded the swan-like beauty

of her Hepburn neck,

for sunlight snared the gait of her walk

and every man breathed an audible sigh,

knowing spring was the allure

of fragrance she wore.

Aah Audrey...the most graceful neck in cinematic history. The thought of her screams "Allure," and invoking her memory in this piece may go over the heads of younger readers, but hit the nail right ON the head for this reader. The metaphor is such a useful writing tool, and an Audrey Hepburn metaphor is more powerful than I would have thought had I not read it with my two eyes.
