Validation

Validation

A Poem by Kelly Scheppers

Validation

The sheets upon the bed

are a muted validation

of the love we made.

I am hesitant to straighten

their rippled effect,

for fear

it will dismiss you

completely.

I could feel the emptiness of the words that long to never forget a love.. Soft and haunting words..

...great!!!
There is a rich, wild world held in still life... in photographs that never age... memories that never change... And how these loving, passionate moments desire to be captured by that same magic... not wanting to ever fade.. May yours only ever grow sweeter with every day...

...thank you for such a captivating analogy, Craig!
I feel uncertainty here, like the protagonist stepped on a silver lining between love lost and love found and is juggling her way to not step where it will implicate her losing her lover. Very dramatic and effective!

I try and you are welcome.
That longing for someone so close, and the things we do (or don't do) to prolong that memory just a bit longer is so well told in this short poem. Well done kelly.

You know love exists when she won't even straighten the sheets for fear of erasing the memory of that moment of unfathomable bliss. Simply beautiful.
