The Jester

The Jester

A Poem by Kelly Scheppers

The Jester

You took all there was of me

without ever once

committing yourself to love.

Like an unmade bed

you stripped me of my senses,

leaving me without word

or warning.

How typical of you

to walk away,

to feel no remorse

or regret.

Someday, the king of hearts will fall

then I shall seek to be

the jester.

Some time back someone took my heart for granted and it is like he took it and threw it to the wall and crushed the pieces, I feel this write so much and if this moment was then, I would write him such a poem and shove it down his throat.
The best revenge to such a person though, is being happy so they see they din do a thing

Oh, I can't imagine Kelly ever doing that to anyone, you have such a kind, gentle heart. Waste no time on those who don't value, appreciate you...save the energy for those who will.

..it was sweet for me! Thank you, Ed!
Hearts mend.........in time. Heartache takes longer. Having a love given rejected and not reciprocated can either destroy one or make one stronger. I feel it made you stronger.

A little emotional healing, but all's good now!
I love this, Kelly.

The last few lines really capture the sentiment of this write. I can never understand how people can just walk away, from anyone. Surely, there must be something there. Perhaps I am naive.

I am curious though... the role of the jester... is it because you're going to look back and laugh, or is it because there will always be a sense of you wanting to cheer him up? Even after what he's done?
