To Keep You Small

To Keep You Small

A Poem by Kelly Scheppers

To Keep You Small

Tell me how

to keep you small,

so that you fit perfectly into my lap

so that my heart won’t break

when you no longer need

to take my hand,

to hold a balloon,

to blow a kiss.

Nicely done Kelly. Always want them to stay the same, but they never do. Only in our hearts.

You're welcome Kelly
Kelly this reminded me so much of my wee dog (see avatar lol) - I often felt guilty about keeping him in a state of perpetual puppydom (he was 14 when he died last year !! so hardly a puppy). I felt he never had the chance to become a 'dog' whatever that means but I remind myself that he had a great wee life that many dogs don't. So thank you for bringing him to the forefront of my mind this morning with your poem filled with love and darling sentiment.
