To pen this ache that bleeds me

To pen this ache that bleeds me

A Poem by Kelly Scheppers
"

...a birthday tribute to Keats

"

To pen this ache that bleeds me

No compass

will map

my journey,

the valleys my mind

have traversed

in sleep…

to pen this ache

that bleeds me,

mortally wounded.

Author's Note

Kelly Scheppers
"Bright Star" is an extraordinary film based on the true story of undying love between poet, John Keats, [Ben Whishaw] and his spirited muse, Fanny Brawne, [Abbie Cornish]. It takes place in 19th century England, and its seductive pleasures will illuminate your heart!

Fanny did influence his poems and this poem a pearl that was create from this "ache", the agony of death coming before they could be together... yes, he would appreciate the irony as well as the beauty of your birthday tribute to Keats... I think I just heard him sigh from his resting place.... nice poem Kelly

No compass is needed in the throes of love, one finds and delivers, one presents and surrenders in a exquisite piece of writing about two loves deep. He's lucky he didn't break the lead in his pencil as his words of devotion pour onto his love in many ways, some inked, some painted, some for mature audiences only. Nice write Kelly and the photo depicts that era of romance.
