Extraordinary at Best

Extraordinary at Best

A Poem by Kelly Scheppers

… a stem came through my side of the fence and flowered on its own. Pretty amazing!

 Extraordinary at best

Narrow shafts of light

foster a garden stem  to grow,

to inhabit the earth

with a profusion of splendor

to become extraordinary

at best.

I found this one day last summer, outside my apartment complex. I thought it was amazing and wanted to capture its wondrous nature!

"a profusion of splendor". A delightful line! So uplifting...so gentle. The photo is artful and the words, well, as always, just perfect! So glad we can get on the site again. Lydi*

I love the photograph, and it's a perfect image to pair with your poem. A gentle yet inspirational message of hope and strength. Even in slivers of light, we can grow. Art in few words. Outstanding.

You're welcome, Kelly. I look forward to seeing more.
Kelly, you were chosen to have that flower (a geranium?) because something/someone knew you'd write some beautiful about its miracle. Added to that you've shared with others which quadruples its wonder. A brief but beautiful post..

So wonderful to hear from you, Al...thank you, darlin! x
Great picture, Kelly and a good poem to go with it.
This exemplifies the fact that Nature will find a way to produce beauty where none should exist.
Humans could take a lesson from her.
